Yours? Mine?

One time we were visiting 小J’s cousin. We were playing in the basement and cousin said something (I didn’t catch what it was). And 小J came over to me, gave me a huge hug and said “She’s MY mommy, not your mommy!” Super possessive. But in this case, also super sweet. Red heart It was unexpected cos I was not on his good book at the time. Daddy has been his best friend and true love while I was just nothing.

Guess the last statement needed some explanation. 小J has been talking about what he loves and stuff recently, after watching Frozen and they probably learn emotions in daycare. His true love was kleenex and cars for a while and then switched to daddy at some point.

Me: 我係咪你 true love?
小J: No, I don’t love you. (Crying face)
Me: But I still love you.
小J: No, you don’t love me bcos I don’t love you.
Me: You don’t have to love me I can still love you (trying to explain)
小J: No, I don’t love you. (obviously do not understand…)

Another occasion.
小J: Daddy is my best friend.
Me: 咁我係咪你 true love?
小J: No, I don’t love you. Daddy is my best frd and my true love.
Me: 咁我係咪你個 best frd?
小J: No.
Me: 咁我係乜?
小J: You are nothing. (Broken heartCrying face)

This attitude has developed since 二少 was born. Before that, I has always been the preferred one. >_< So anyway, bcos of that, it was surprisingly sweet when he was all possessive like that.

Another time, grandma was visiting. She was holding 二少 during lunch time at our house. She said something abt 二少 (again, I don’t remember what she actually said).
小J: He is not YOUR baby. He is OUR baby!

So cute!Red heart He has definitely come around on his view on 二少. Has changed from having nothing to do with him, to at least sort of friendly from time to time. Still not super loving yet but at least he wouldn’t go physically hurt him (like some horror story that I’ve heard from some other ppl) when we turn our head but sometimes actually tries to help console 二少.

Pukey

二少 is super pukey, totally different from 小J. When I say ‘super’, I mean it. I’m not one to exaggerate things. Both the volume and frequency of the vomit is way higher than normal. To the point that weight gain has stopped at some point so that we got referred to a PED…

Unfortunately, the referral was done right b4 xmas so we had to wait for a long time to actually got an appointment. (And there was a little incident that we got told to go in anyway during the break so there was doc on duty that would see us but turned out it was only for emergency and therefore a total waste of time on my part).

Anyway, finally got in two weeks ago and there were a couple suspected causes. Either 二少 has GER or has food sensitivity. So now, I am on this no diary diet, which means no milk, no cheese, no yoghurt, no cream. And no soy either. So hard to do. Can’t even do the easy breakfast like cereal bcos of that. Not to mention ice cream. No pizza either…

I don’t know if I would rather it be GER (which sounds more like an actual sickness) than food sensitivity bcos supposedly, kids usually grow out of GER sooner than sensitivity. But for GER, there’s not much I can do to lessen the issue but with food sensitivity, I can avoid certain food. But then avoiding food is a pain in the ass.

But so far, avoiding diary and soy product seems to do the trick, to a certain extent. There’re still spit ups, everyday. But at least it’s not all through the day and the volume is definitely less. And he seemed to have chub-ed up a bit in the past two weeks.

At the same time, 二少's digestive system also seemed to have matured. Only one poopy diaper per day, as opposed to 4-6 times. So it seems like he’s absorbing his food better.

So really, is the diary that causes the problem? Or so it happens that he has grown out of whatever the problem was at the same time?? Don’t know. Going back to the PED this week. Let’s see what she’s going to say.

Bed Time 一二事

幾晚前
while I was trying to get 二少 to go to sleep, 小J came in, butt naked, telling me that he has a big belly. 一邊拍住自己個肚腩一邊話 "大肚dum, 無良心". And then he went away.

尋晚
Again, while I was trying to get 二少 to go to sleep, 小J came in again. This time, he had his PJ pants on but had it pulled way up high.
"做乜呀? 扮grandpa?"
"Yes!" and then he went away.
Thing is, he has never met the grandpa that he was pretending cos he was long gone. He only heard story abt him from 詹占。
To me, he's more like 中國領導人。 XD

Casual Conversation

Bedtime story time
Suddenly realizing 小J's wrist is quite chubby sticking out from the long sleeve (probably just the angle cos he's not that chub anymore).

O (grabbing forearm): Wow! Your wrist and your hand are so fat.
小J (若無其事, matter of fact 地): Because I am a 肥仔。

忍唔住哈一聲笑咗出黎。 XD
小J 想都不用想的回覆,令我懷疑我係咪叫佢肥仔叫得太多...

Recent Reads

I have been reading quite a few books lately due to the amount of time that I am confined to a chair.

Caught up with the whole Mercy Thompson series that I mentioned before.

Read a book called Cinder. It’s book one of a series. So far, there’re three of them. I don’t know if the series has ended or not. On the waiting list of the library to get to the 2nd book. Cinder, for Cinderella. But the time is a post-4th War World time. And the story isn’t at all that Cinderella-y. To me, the writer simply used the title Cinder to attract the attention so ppl would read the book.. There’s also another reason for the word Cinder, as in the burnt coal or wood. But I think reason 1 is the bigger factor. Anyway, the story is interesting enough so far that I will continue.

Also read Fault in Our Stars. I didn’t really know what the story is about when I started. I just ran out of stuff to read at the time so I thought I would read it. I know it was a teens book. I have read other teens novels before like Twilight, Are you there God? It’s me Margaret, and some other fantasy ones. But man… this one is really… um… what’s the word… teenager-y. Almost couldn’t stand it.

Plowing through some of the Jack Reacher series right now. I had ‘read’ a few before in the form of audio books but now that I actually have time to ‘read’ the word version, I figured I can start from book 1. (That’s the problem with the library’s audio books. Sometimes, the audio version of the older of the series doesn’t exist, which is annoying. Luckily, one doesn’t really need to start from the beginning for the Jack Reacher series.  I wouldn’t say that I love the series but it’s a pretty good series to pass the time.

More Speaking Record

There are still some words that 小J is unable to pronounce properly. There are also words that he says with some funny accent that we don't know where it comes from:

To-mor-yo - Tomorrow
Stor-ee - Story
Sub維 - Subway
Tail-yo - Tail
Nail-yo - Nail

These cute little words are 買少見少 these days as 小J gets more and more fluent in speech.

Breaking Bad

Since #2 has arrived, I have been spending a lot of time confined in a sitting position lately. I have been reading books and watching movies. The list of movie that I would like to watch quickly depleted and I got tired off searching for movies to watch so I have decided to watch Breaking Bad.

Picked this series cos one of the kid at church really liked it and there were all these hypes back when the series was about to end.

Unfortunately, I really didn't like it. It's one of those shows that everyone on it is jerk.

Problem is, I was too deep into it before I realized that everyone is a jerk, at which point, I had to finish the series. To be fair, each character also has his/her good qualities but it doesn't offset the dark side enough for me to like them.

Hated the wife, hated the sister, hated the main character, pretty much hated everyone there.

Hated hated it when the main character starts lying cos he's so bad at it and it was obvious that he was lying. I know it's on purpose but it was driving me insane.

The only character that amuses me is the lawyer. He's pretty much loud and proud of the fact that he works for the money. He helps whoever that can pay the price. Not that he's a good person but at least he's honest and open about it instead of lie after lie after lie.

One interesting idea is that everyone, the big bad guys (the big player, not the little 小混混 around the street corner) were all professional and they all hide in plain site, have a normal life, normal business as cover.

Another thing is that they always show these beautiful skies as transition scenes. The show is supposed to be about these ppl in New Mexico. Is New Mexico really that beautiful?
